Dear St. Anne parishioners, school families, alumni and friends,
I write this letter to you with gratitude in my heart. With the pandemic well underway last July when I began my new assignment here, I faced much uncertainty regarding the state of our parish and school. Since that time, while there were moments filled with great anxiety, I received such an outpouring of kindness and uplifting support that has provided strength going forward. Believe me when I say that I truly am thankful to God to be here during this most challenging time.
As we fast approach the end of 2020, I ask that you consider offering your support once again to help our parish. COVID-19 has made a negative impact on the financial health of St. Anne parish. Since March, offertory contributions have declined which may be directly related to financial hardships due to the pandemic or simply because of the general dispensation from Mass. With the recent surge of new cases, public Mass attendance continues to be low which effects offertory donations.
If you are able to give generously at Christmas, it would greatly help make a difference in the St. Anne community as we conclude this difficult year. You can make your gift here or by mail. Although we live in a time of great uncertainty, what is always steadfast is God’s love. I look to the New Year with confidence that our Lord will continue to bestow blessings on our entire parish family. In addition, I personally look forward to the day when we can all gather together safely in our beautiful church to celebrate Mass.
Please know that whether you celebrate Mass in person this Christmas or join virtually, know that we are all one parish family.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. John Kopson
